Website project process
The process of building a website is a lot of work. As the client, you can control some of the costs of the build by maximising your impute. Plan out you site, decide what you want on the site, how many pages and what on each page. You are buying the designer’s time, the more they think they need to do, the more it costs.
Think about who you want to reach with the site, new clients, old clients or just create interest.
Discuss your requirements with the designer, take there advice into consideration and revise your plans.
Your designer will come up with a list of things they need from you, text, images and logos. Treat this as a request from a client, this will speed the process and achieve a better site, don’t do it when you get the odd 5 seconds, the text will be disjointed and inconsistent.
Read the proof, imagine you know nothing and try to find the information you would need to make a purchase or enquiry.
Promote you new site to your existing clients by email, add the address to business cards and any Point of sale.
Keep the site up to date.
